BOARD & STAFF
The United Church Homes is related to the United Church of Christ. Reflecting this faith tradition our volunteer Board of Directors sets policy, oversees operations, and plans for the continuation of our 90 years of distinguished service to Seniors. The Board meets quarterly to conduct business and a fifth time each year for planning for the future activities of the organization. Varied backgrounds, interest, and expertise are reflected in the Board membership.

 President/CEO
Mr. Allen has served as President/CEO of United Church Homes for nearly 20 years. During this time he has worked with the Board of Directors and staff to expand the organization's services while keeping a focus on quality. United Church Homes now has five retirement communities and three free-standing nursing homes. Senior Housing for those on fixed income is also provided at 60 sites in 14 states. United Church Homes Management provides management services to others. Prior to coming to United Church Homes, Mr. Allen worked as a Regional Manager for a large for-profit chain. His career path has included work in hospitals as an Assistant Administrator and other roles. Brian graduated with Honors in Economics from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. He is active in the field of Senior Services. He is a former Chair of the Association of Ohio Philanthropic Homes and Services for the Aging (AOPHA) and continues to serve on various committees. As a Board member of the Ohio Health Care Association (OHCA) he serves as the Non-Proprietary Chair. On the National scene, Mr. Allen has served the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA) as member of the House of Delegates and the Finance Committee. He is also a member of AAHSA's Chief Executives of Multi-facility Organizations (CEMO) and has served this group as a Convener of their activities. In addition, he is serving the American Health Care Association (AHCA) as a member of their Non-Proprietary Committee. Brian is a member of the Executive Committee of the Council for Health and Human Services Ministries (CHHSM) of the United Church of Christ and is a Past Chair of CHHSM. He is recognized as a Diakonal Minister and has completed the CHHSM Transformational Leadership Program. |

 Vice-President Gift Planning Services
Mr. Allen is responsible for directing and coordinating fund raising activities throughout the communities. Prior to joining United Church Homes, Mr. Allen served nearly seven years as Vice President for Development at Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, Kentucky. Previously, he served for twelve years as Director of Planned Giving for the National Benevolent Association (NBA) in St. Louis. Mr. Allen is an ordained Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Minister and served local Disciple congregations before beginning his wider church ministry through 22 years of successful gift planning leadership. |

 Vice-President Staff & Community Relations
Mr. Hackett joined the Corporation in 1986 and is responsible for directing the Human Resources and Community Relations support functions of the Corporation. Prior to joining the Corporation, he served as a Senior Consultant at Clemans, Nelson & Associates, Inc., a national labor relations and personnel consulting firm located in Columbus, Ohio from 1982 to 1986. Mr. Hackett was the Director of Personnel and Community Relations at St. John's Center in Springfield, Ohio from 1978 to 1982, and the Director of Employment Services for the Clark County Employment and Training Office in Springfield, Ohio from 1975 to 1978. Mr. Hackett received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work from the University of Dayton in 1973. |

 Vice-President Financial Services
Mr. Stoner is responsible for the directing and oversight of the finance function of the Corporation. Prior to joining United Church Homes, he was the Executive Vice President (COO & CFO) of Akron Children’s Hospital for ten years and also served as CFO and Controller. Before joining Akron Children’s, John was with Ernst and Young, in their consulting and auditing practices.
He earned his B.S. degree in Business from the University of Dayton and his M.S. degree in Accounting from Kent State University. John also serves as a Board Member of the Village at St. Edward (Fairlawn, Ohio), CC Facilities Corporation and CC Community Services Corporation (both of Cleveland, Ohio) and Our Lady of Elms Foundation (Akron, Ohio).

 Vice-President IT Services
Mr. Weisbrodt is responsible for directing the information system support functions for the Corporation. Prior to joining the Corporation in 1989, he served as department supervisor at Fulfillment Corporation of America from 1985 to 1989. Mr. Weisbrodt joined the Corporation as Director of Information Systems until 1997 when he accepted the position of Controller. In May 2002, he was promoted to Vice-President — IT Services. He received a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from The Ohio State University in 1985 and is a Certified Public Accountant. |

 Vice-President Senior Health & Living Services
Ms. White is responsible for directing the delivery of health care services at the Corporation's facilities as well as facilities under management or consulting agreement by the Corporation. Ms. White came to the Corporation in 1989. Prior to joining United Church Homes she worked for Manor Health Care, Inc., Midwest Division; National Health Corporation, L.P. in St. Petersburg, Florida; and Health Care and Retirement Corporation. |

 Vice-President Housing Services
Ms. Wickersham is responsible for directing the development and operations of the Corporation's sponsored housing communities. Prior to joining the Corporation in 1993, she served as Plant Accountant from 1989 to 1993 for UltraCare Products, Inc., located in Marion, Ohio. Ms. Wickersham served as accountant for Schwaderer Farm Supply, Inc. in LaRue, Ohio from 1986 to 1989 and accountant and office manager from 1978 to 1986 for Harris Lawn Grading, Inc., Caledonia, Ohio. Ms. Wickersham received a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from the University of Findlay, Findlay, Ohio in 1984 and is a Certified Public Accountant. |

 Vice-President & General Counsel
Ken is responsible for the oversight of corporate legal and compliance matters for United Church Homes, its subsidiaries and affiliated entities. Prior to joining United Church Homes, Ken was a partner with the law firm of Roth Bacon Young, Attorneys, where he served as retained corporate counsel for United Church Homes from 1993-2005.
Ken received his BA in Economics from Ohio Wesleyan University, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He received his J.D. degree from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1993. Ken is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Marion County Bar Association and is a past president of the Wyandot County Bar Association. |
