About Internships with United Church Homes

Whether you are seeking a traditional internship, an administrator in training experience or a job shadow opportunity, let United Church Homes partner with you to enhance your education, build your awareness of the aging services industry and jumpstart your career!

As a UCH intern, you’ll learn from a leader in older adult services as you partner with a prominent and well-known organization.

UCH interns gain firsthand exposure to real world situations, receive a transparent education in working with older adults, get access to our servant leaders and experience the innovative training that is supported by our organization. Interns will apply skills, knowledge and theoretical practice learned in the classroom in real life situations.

The focus of an internship at UCH is a positive learning environment for those with varied experience in the professional world. A UCH internship will positively shape you professionally and personally and help you build your professional network.

UCH Internships offer many areas of study, providing a chance to explore a true view of aging services.

UCH employees may propose an internship for their community and request funds from the Rev. Ralph and Sue Quellhorst Leadership Endowment Fund. Please fill out the form and return it to Rev. Beth Long-Higgins. Requests will be reviewed on a rotating basis and are subject to fund availability.

  • Interns must report to a current UCH employee. If the internship is for credit, the employee must meet the requirements of the intern’s educational institution.
  • All internships are subject to the approval of the employee’s supervisor and the community’s administrator or executive director.
  • Interns are subject to pre-employment screening. The community HR staff must be notified of start and end dates.

UCH interns gain access to professionals in their chosen field and develop relationships for professional references to enhance their resume through relevant, real-world experiences.
