Brownstone Terrace Celebrates Outdoor Enhancements with Generous Gifts from Marion Public Health
Marion, OH (July 25, 2023) Brownstone Terrace, a United Church Homes affordable housing community, hosted a vibrant celebration to unveil its newly established community garden and extended walking path on July 13th at 2 p.m. These projects were generously funded by “Creating Healthy Communities” through Marion Public Health.
In 2022, Marion Public Health provided $21,000 to lay the foundation for these initiatives, which have since become cherished additions to the community. This year, an additional $24,000 from the organization enabled Brownstone Terrace to extend the walking path around the retention pond, further enhancing outdoor recreational opportunities for residents.
“We are grateful for the invaluable support from Marion Public Health, our remarkable partner throughout this journey,” said Gloria Hurwitz, Vice President of Advancement at United Church Homes. “The community garden and walking path have had a positive impact on our residents, fostering healthy habits and a strong sense of community.”
The celebration showcased heartfelt gratitude to Marion Public Health for its unwavering support and collaboration in making these initiatives a reality and their commitment to promoting wellness and connectivity among residents.
Brownstone Terrace continues to flourish as a beacon of community engagement and wellness, thanks to the dedication of its residents and the invaluable partnership with Marion Public Health. The celebration served as a reminder of the power of collaboration and the positive impact of investing in community health and vitality.
