John, a native of Marion, Ohio, said he is excited about this new role and the opportunity to become an advocate for older adults. “I want to learn more about the depth and extent of the nonprofit corporation’s care for seniors,” John said. John is a graduate of Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio, and Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. He has been an ordained pastor for 57 years and has served several congregations as a settled or interim pastor. He has also served as interim executive director of Back Bay Mission, a community ministry of the United Church of Christ in Biloxi, Mississippi, and as executive director of Crossroad/Fort Wayne Children’s Home, which is now known as Crossroad Child and Family Services. John has also served as interim conference minister in the Central Pacific and Indiana-Kentucky conferences. John said he is impressed with United Church Homes and the dedication and experience of its staff.

“It’s exciting to be a part of this great organization,” John said.

gantt 5630Trevor said he, too, is excited about being named a member of the UCH Board of Directors. “I am honored to be involved with a faith-based organization aimed at improving the aging experience, especially because we know some of the challenges (older adults face). United Church Homes is very well positioned to accomplish its mission of transforming Aging by building a culture of community, wholeness and peace,” Trevor said.

Trevor holds a bachelor of science in athletic training from Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, a master’s degree in kinesiology and sports medicine from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a doctorate degree in health sciences from A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona. Trevor currently serves as the associate dean of health sciences, chair, and director of athletic training with rank of associate professor. He previously worked in academic, administrative, and clinical roles at Millikin University and Decatur Memorial Hospital. Trevor is a compassionate Christian with a history of researching aging, pain, and emotional intelligence.

“I hope to be able to contribute to the UCH Board and broader community. The current Board members passionately use their talents to help move the organization forward and my goal is to do the same,” Trevor said.
