Housing Leader Nominated for Prestigious Athena Award

The Athena Award is a national award sponsored by organizations to recognize excellence in leadership to a woman of distinction each year. The award is presented to a woman who has demonstrated her passion to help other women reach their goals in business or community leadership.

Cheryl started with UCH as a staff accountant in 1993 and rose to her current position in 1998. She oversees the development, construction, management and operations of a growing portfolio of subsidized affordable housing properties. Through her excellent leadership, Cheryl has grown UCH’s affordable housing program to become one of the top 10 nonprofit providers in the U.S.

“Cheryl is always looking for innovative ideas that provide additional cost-effective home support to our residents to keep them living independently longer,” Rev. Daniel said. “She combines a love of people with a leader’s passion for excellence.”
